Western Chances partners with a number of organisations that provide free camp programs to Western Chances recipients. These exciting programs offer opportunities to develop team building and leadership skills, grow confidence and resilience and create long-lasting friendships.

Lord & Lady Somers ‘Big Camp’
The Lord & Lady Somers ‘Big Camp’ offers free places to a limited number of Western Chances recipients aged 16 - 18 years to attend this life changing camp! Big Camps are a fun and energetic personal and team-based challenge, creating opportunities for friendship, care, acceptance and belonging, as well as developing confidence and creating long-lasting friendships.
Lord Somers Camp held from 4th - 10th January 2026 for young men, male identifying or male presenting non-binary young people.
Lady Somers Camp held from 11th - 17th January 2026 for young women, female identifying or female presenting non-binary young people.

Spark Engineering Camp
Youth Without Borders offers free places at the Spark Engineering camp for a limited number of Western Chances recipients. The camp provides students with a unique experience, showing them what tertiary education and technology-related fields are like while they are still studying in high school. This can encourage students to pursue STEM as a career and highlights that a STEM pathway is accessible and achievable!
The weeklong camp will be held from 7th - 12th July 2025/
Activities include:
Equipping students with knowledge of different university courses and pathways
Providing students with the tools and support they need to pursue their goals and maximise their potential
Promoting the cultivation of relationships between diverse people groups to support future diversity in the workplace
