Travelling through the bustling streets of Melbourne’s CBD, calling on our community to join us as we actively tackle the socio-economic barriers to education faced by numerous young people in Melbourne's west—a region dealing with some of Australia's highest rates of youth unemployment and educational inequity.

Talent is everywhere, opportunity is not.
Melbourne’s west is brimming with culturally diverse young people with aspirations for a brighter future. Yet so many young people face unimaginable challenges, including significant financial, social, and cultural barriers to their education. The region records one of the nation’s highest youth employment rates, below average literacy and numeracy levels, and a low VCE completion rate. At Western Chances, we stand with the talented and dedicated young people of Melbourne's west. Their dreams fuel our mission for a world of equal opportunity, where every young person in Melbourne's west can reach their potential.

Thank you to Yarra Trams for making this campaign possible as part of their 2024 Community Partnerships Program, and Willett Marketing, our pro-bono communications partner for designing our amazing tram artwork. Western Chances’ ‘Opening Doors’ awareness campaign, with support from the Yarra Trams Community Partnership Program runs from December 21st 2023 to April 9th 2024. The tram will be travelling on Route 109 (Between Box Hill and Port Melbourne) and Route 48 (between North Balwyn and Victoria Harbour).
