Western Chances announces new CEO, Jackie Taylor

Western Chances is delighted to announce the appointment of Jackie Taylor as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer. Jackie will officially join the team on 30 June 2025, bringing with her decades of experience in the tertiary and education sectors and a deep passion for creating opportunities for young people. 

Jackie’s appointment follows an extensive and rigorous recruitment process, during which 198 applicants were carefully considered. Her outstanding leadership, values, and vision stood out at every stage. 

Founding Chair of Western Chances, Terry Bracks AM, welcomed the appointment, saying: 

“Jackie is a passionate and accomplished leader with a proven track record in education. Her belief in young people and her commitment to equity and access align beautifully with the heart of Western Chances. I’m confident that under her leadership, we’ll continue to grow our impact while staying true to our roots and values.” 

Throughout her career, Jackie has held senior leadership roles at Deakin University and The Gordon TAFE, where she has contributed to meaningful institutional growth and helped deliver positive outcomes for students.  

As a proud Geelong resident, Jackie also brings a strong local perspective as Western Chances continues to expand its scholarship program into the Geelong region.

Jackie joins the organisation at a pivotal time, as Western Chances celebrates more than 22 years of life-changing impact and prepares to launch a bold new five-year strategic plan.
