Wasi
Wasi is a high achiever. While studying for a Bachelor of Information Technology, he has undertaken two internships and continues to volunteer in the community. He won the 2024 Rotary Young Achiever Award.
“I received my first scholarship in Year 8. Since then Western Chances has been a vital part of my life, helping me financially and offering me amazing opportunities.
Currently I’m doing a paid data analytics internship with Melbourne Airport, where I’m applying what I learn at uni to add value to my work team. My previous internship with Yarra Trams opened my eyes to the incredible impact data can have in a business.
Through Western Chances I took part in the EY Career Coaching Program and I was awarded a Dayfdd Lewis Trust Scholarship. These experiences shaped who I am today and gave me the confidence to keep growing.
That’s why I’m determined to keep the cycle of positivity going by volunteering and mentoring others. This year I was honoured to receive a Rotary Young Achiever Award for my community service. I’d like to thank Western Chances for always believing in me and helping me realise my own potential.”
